An Old Romance

The music thumped loudly in her ear as she moved her body slowly across the dance floor. The base shook her body with every beat. From the core of her bones and out to her fingertips the beat made her body shake. And like lightning the spots colored the dance floor with every color in the rainbow. A man dancing close to her pressed himself up against her. Not really her idea of a good time, but this was how you danced nowadays. Another man across the room caught her eye as he danced, much more respectfully, with a blond. But when her hair whipped his face for the fourth time he backed up and made space for a much sleazier man. Who started to fiddle her ass, which the blond seemed to enjoy. The man whom had moved away was now sitting at the bar. Looking out over the dance floor with a smile on his face. His icy blues caught her forest green eyes and as if she was pulled towards him with a magnet she swam through the people on the dance floor. Leaving the groping man behind.
“Tuff night?” he smiled at her as she sat down on the barstool on his left side. She nodded. “You wouldn’t want a drink would you?” He asked as he leaned over the bar and told the barkeep to bring her a Cosmo. “I guess I do…” she muttered. Thinking he was way to confident for her. “…Why do every man in this room have to rub their stuff up against us girls?” She asked as she picked up her cell phone from her jean pocket. A tactical move from her side, wearing pants at the club, Most certainly to hot to dance in for hours but at least you wouldn’t have to have some guys hand down your panties. “I don’t know, Guess their thinking they need to get something if their not going home with anyone to night” The barkeep brought her her Cosmo and she nodded a thanks. “Wow your confident, aren’t you!” she turned and looked at him. Laughing a little bit. “Why shouldn’t I bee?” “I can’t say it’s charming…” “oh, you love the cocky guys! Every girl here does!” “well… this isn’t my kind of spot actually…” “Really… you don’t say!” “What?” “well, you are wearing pants, nothing screams leave me alone like pants in the club!” “Nothing screams take me I’m easy like a skirt in the club!” He laughed, “That’s true too”. “you want to go someplace else?” he asked after a few seconds of silence. “Like where?” “I know a great coffee shop down the street…” he smiled and held out his hand for her to take it. “Fine!” she giggled and took it. When she had gotten her coat back and they where out on the rainy sidewalk again he turned to her. “Alex by the way!” “Amanda…” she smiled. And then their journey down the street began. They turned a corner and she could already see the starbucks sign. “Thought it was a special coffee shop!” she laughed. “What small cozy coffee shop is opened at 2am?” “I don’t know seemed like you knew a place…”
The next morning she woke to the sound of small hands knocking on her bedroom door. She turned to look and beside her laid the man from yesterday. Sound asleep and naked. “What is it honey?” she shouted as she slowly sat up in the bed. “Mom wanted me to wake you!” a soft voice from the other side of the door replied. “Sweetie, tell your mother I’ll be down soon!” “ok grandma!” She looked at the man beside her. Definitely too old for her… “You must be about 75 years old…” she muttered just before she went in to the bathroom to get her self ready to have breakfast the family.
